Eddie Ponce currently serves as VP, Compliance for Emergent Technology and is responsible for oversight of the global compliance and AML programs for Responsible Gold, G-Coin and Emergent Payments, as well as the development and rollout of the company’s AML programs in the U.S. and various markets in Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Previously, he served as Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Program at Moneygram. Then, he served as SVP, Enterprise Strategy for CRB where he was responsible for focusing on high-risk points of exposure involving legal, regulatory & operational challenges to mitigate both fiscal and reputational impact. He also held the role of SVP, Regulatory Compliance where he was responsible for the development & oversight of the regulatory compliance program including both consumer compliance & safety & soundness.
He then served as Director of Compliance for KBC bank’s U.S. subsidiary & affiliate companies then served as Director of the Global Compliance program for First Data/Western Union’s affiliate & subsidiary money transfer companies. In this capacity, he was responsible for the development & management of the U.S. & International AML program, oversight of all U.S. & international exams, licensing, remediation efforts & expansion.
Before that, he served as VP of Compliance for WAMU’s non-prime mortgage-banking subsidiary & was an integral member of the product development team.
He also brings experience from the securities & insurance industry including the development of Pacific Life’s Corporate Compliance & division level compliance programs. As a founding member of PL’s Corporate Compliance Program he was responsible for establishing a centralized compliance program to oversee all business unit level compliance departments, develop an AML program, & create a company-wide code of conduct.
